چکیده

In this paper, maximum a posteriori (MAP) detection is applied to a direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) system jointly with identification and estimation of time-selective fading channels. By sampling the outputs of the matched filter and combining antenna array elements, strong and time-varying multiple-access interference (MAI) is characterized and suppressed instantaneously. The decision statistics for MAP detection are obtained from the conditional probability density function of prediction error. The prediction is accomplished by approximating the fading channel with a constrained nonlinear state model. Unknown parameters such as auto-regressive (AR) process coefficients, noise covariance matrices, and the antenna array vector are estimated based on received sample vectors only. Also, differential modulation is applied to eliminate the need for pilot insertion. Through computer simulations, near-optimum bit error rates (BERs) are found.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Joint Closed-Loop Power Control and Base Station Assignment for DS-CDMA Receiver in Multipath Fading Channel with Adaptive Beamforming Method

In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm and base station assignment based on minimizing the transmitter power (BSAMTP) technique in a direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) receiver in the presence of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. This receiver consists of three stages. In the first stage, with conjugate gradient (CG) adaptive ...

Rate Detection for Variable-rate Data Transmission in Cdma Communication Systems

Variable-rate data transmission is one of the key techniques to effectively reduce the mutual interference and as a result increase the link capacity in direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. To avoid frame overhead, a blind rate detection scheme that does not explicitly transmit any rate information of transmitted data has been proposed for use in the third-generation...

Joint Map Detection and Channel Estimation for Cdma over Frequency-selective Fading Channels

This paper presents a centralized multiuser maximum a posteriori (MAP) detector for code division multiple access (CDMA) signals on frequency-selective fast-fading channels. Importantly, the algorithm does not assume perfect channel state information at the receiver. The key idea is to expand the hypothesis trellis for the purpose of joint channel estimation and equalization for all users. Usin...

We present MUSIC type algorithm for joint parameter estimation in asynchronous DS CDMA system with multiple antenna system at base station and single antenna system at the mobile users. The proposed algorithm is applied in downlink processing and it enables the joint estimation of time delay, frequency shift as well as spatial parameters (direction of departure DOD of transmitted signal) of asy...
